MUHC Centre of Excellence for Atopic Dermatitis
The MUHC Centre of Excellence for Atopic Dermatitis (MUHC COE AD) is the first tertiary care centre in Canada dedicated to adult atopic dermatitis (AD). Now home to the largest national academic cohort of adult AD patients, it is the first Canadian academic clinic to be accredited by the GA²LEN ADCARE network, and has been recognized nationally and internationally for its unique patient engagement platform (guided by CIHR’s Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research, with a formal Patient Partner co-directing patient engagement) and development of innovative digital health tools (the EczemaQ mobile health app, winner of the Most Transformative Clinical Innovation prize, McGill CLIC competition).
FOR CLINICIANS
The MUHC COE AD is not only an academic clinic, but also a network of clinicians, researchers, healthcare professionals, and patients. Our goal is to drive excellence in AD management by developing state-of-the-art, evidence-based, and patient-centered care focused on the fundamentals of adult and adolescent eczema, in terms of pathophysiology, diagnosis, and multifaceted management. The MUHC COE AD is a referral center for dermatologists across Quebec, and has developed and formalized networks for multidisciplinary atopic specialties (internal medicine, infectious disease, allergy and immunology, and more), as well as allied health care providers within the polyclinic infrastructure. To learn more about these networks, or to access free-to-use tools developed by the clinic for adult AD patients, please visit the ‘For Clinicians’ section.
